diecast car scales?

I would like to purchase a diecast car, but I don't know the difference in the scales and am having trouble finding info on them. How does a 1:12 differ from a 1:64. Is it more bigger and more detailed?

A 1/12 is bigger than a 1/64. As far as the detail the scale doesn't matter. It depends on the manufacturer and how detailed they make it.
